WebPublisher Studio is a suite of development tools for writing Client-Server applications which deliver database content over HTTP, SMTP and TCP/IP.

WebPublisher Studio is entirely written in Omnis Studio and requires a development copy of Omnis Studio Standard Edition (V3.2 to V4.3) comprising one developer application and one runtime. Typical applications that can be built using WebPublisher Studio include shopping cart and e-commerce, on-line sales catalogues, price lists, rental accommodation, for-sale notices, email dispatching, remote unattended data capture and virtually anything that needs a database served over the internet.

Omnis
Omnis Studio

WebPublisher Studio comprises two integrated Omnis Studio applications for developing complete web enabled systems - the WebPublisher Studio Server and the WebPublisher Studio Client.

WPS Server

WebPublisher Studio Server
The Server is used to reply to HTTP and TCP/IP requests in the final production system as well as during development.

  • Multiple services can be delivered by assigning independent listening ports and the deployment is scalable allowing multiple Server instances to be installed.
  • Server instances can be assigned to dedicated functions allowing the separation of data entry, HTML services, Reporting and Server side task processing by using a WebPublisher Studio Server Multi-Instance cluster (more...)

WebPublisher Studio Client
The Client is used to manage the Server and all WebPublisher Studio resources. The Client application is supplied in two configurations:

  • Runtime Client which provides tools for administering the server and publishing Plug-in libraries, and
  • Development Client which includes all the tools needed to author WebPublisher Studio applications.

Developers can write applications in the Client that can be locked and deployed into a production environment and managed remotely using the Server Manager tools in the Client (more...)

WPS Client

WebPublisher Studio can be deployed to process TCP/IP requests in an enormous variety of configurations - see our Case Studies
